Regardless of who occupies the White House the eve of Jan 20, increasingly grave damage has been done to the Republic over the last four decades, building in intensity over the last four years, and coming to a crest, likely only the first of many, last evening. I was standing in line at the grocery store, senza 😷, when the email from my brother popped in of #SCOTUS decision in the #Texas case; it felt like a gut punch. While I have always voted as an Independent, I remained essentially apolitical until 2016, when I volunteered for the RNC and the Trump campaign. The prima facia reason was to prevent #HRC from being elected. I knew all too well had I done what she did with her server, I would be in Leavenworth in a heartbeat. The more important reason was that the federal court system, and the Supreme Court in particular, had drifted too far away from the meaning of the #Constitution, what is written, and Trump promised to fill vacancies with originalists. One need not be a “Constitution Scholar” nor a lawyer, to read the Texas case and the Constitution and understand what is at stake and why the court should have taken the case. For those who need a primer, the article below is an excellent summary.
The terse statement issued last night was a betrayal by the majority of the justices, which included all three of Trump’s appointees, to their oath, any honor they may have had, and the future of this country. The fight is not over. Indeed, there is now talk of succession and civil war. However, as some have pointed out, and for those paying attention, the real war is with China and the globalist, communist cabal. Grave, grave damage has been done to the Republic, for which we all are to blame, and which will take decades to repair, if it is at all possible. The #USA is in duress and under attack, which is why our flag now hangs inverted, as I posted last night. Endnote & Postscript
On the eve of December 11, 2020, after returning home from Trader Joe's and helping to put away the groceries, I turned the flag on our house inverted and only posted the photo to my social media accounts, then LinkedIn, Facebook and Parler. The following morning, I posted the above, not as an article but just as a post. I've republished it here, on February 02, 2021 because it is pertinent.
Namaste,
Mark Stansell
